Career
Her music and acting career: After returning to India after the 2009 economic crisis, Parineeti Chopra began her Bollywood career. She returned to Yash Raj Film Production as a PR consultant. Later, the company offered her an acting contract.
She debuted in 2011’s box office hit ‘Ladies versus Ricky Bahl’, starring Ranveer Singh. For her next film, ‘Ishaqzaade,’ (2012), she played Zoya and was lauded and successful. Starting in January, she performed back-to-back till 2014. ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ were her 2013 and 2014 films, respectively. Filmfare awarded her Best Female Debut for Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl. For other films, she won a few more until 2014.
She earned a National Film Award Special Mention for her Zoya performance. Chopra portrays Hyderabad-based working-class saleswoman Gulrez “Gullu” Qadir in the 2014 dowry-themed social comedy Daawat-e-Ishq opposite Aditya Roy Kapur and Anupam Kher. Chopra’s film received mixed reviews, despite his praise. Chopra’s next bold performance came in 2014’s criminal drama Kill Dil, alongside Govinda, Ranveer Singh, and Ali Zafar. Daawat-e-Ishq and Kill Dil disappointed fans and Chopra’s career.
Following that, Chopra took a vacation from work and only appeared briefly as a doctor in the Man’s World YouTube series and as Muskaan Raza Qureshi in Dishoom’s “Jaaneman Aah.”
Three years away from filming, Chopra returned in 2017 to Yash Raj Films’ Meri Pyaari Bindu opposite Ayushmann Khurana. She later appeared in Rohit Shetty’s fourth Golmaal film, Golmaal Again, opposite Ajay Devgn. Her highest-grossing film broke records and was a hit.
Chopra only appeared in the 2018 rom-com Namaste England with Arjun Kapoor. Following Ishaqzaade, Chopra starred opposite Arjun Kapoor again. The film was a box office flop and was poorly received.
Anurag Singh’s 2019 epic combat thriller Kesari featured Chopra supporting Akshay Kumar. A movie described the events leading to the Battle of Saragarhi. The film was profitable for the makers. Sidharth Malhotra-starring rom-com Jabariya Jodi was her second production of the year. The film focused on Bihar’s widespread bridegroom kidnapping. The film was a failure.
Chopra appeared in The Girl on the Train, a February 2021 Hindi remake of a British film and novel. The way she played Mira was liked by reviewers. Chopra then appeared in Dibakar Banerjee’s dark comedy Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar with Arjun Kapoor. The work she did was again praised by a number of experts.

Saina Nehwal Scandal
Saina Nehwal’s supporters were upset when South actor Siddharth made a nasty and sexist joke in reaction to her tweet criticizing PM Narendra Modi’s security failure in Punjab in January 2022.
